Terrence Howard, David Archuleta, Perform at State Department/ Speaker Pelosi Joins Legislators, Children Uniting Nations, Daphna Ziman & Russell Simmons to Push for Change in Child Welfare Policy
Celebrities (Russell Simmons, Terrence Howard, Vivica Fox, Gabriel Union, David Archuleta and Michael Copon, Shawn King, Catherine Dent) were insightful and dedicated to getting people committed to joining the CUN movement to recruit mentors and elevate attention to children in need. The event concluded at the Department of State in the historical Benjamin Franklin reception room, where Terrence Howard gave a poignant and charismatic speech reminding the audience that “there is an angel in us all and not to forget to use it” just before taking the stage to perform a Latin-jazz ensemble. David Archuleta committed his efforts to motivating the younger generation to get involved, mentor and make a difference. On a piano which formerly belonged to President Truman, Archuleta performed two songs, one of which brought the audience to tears and then to their feet for an ovation as it reminded them that despite the glittery surroundings, the reason the evening was taking place was for those children most in need.

The 18-year-old American Idol alum tweeted after the event, saying, “Just had a press conference for Children Uniting Nations. Such inspiring speakers. I’m so tired though! couldn’t sleep.” Speakers included Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Children Uniting Nations founder Daphna Ziman.

Yesterday afternoon David Archuleta took time out of his busy schedule to speak at the “Children Uniting Nations” 4th Annual National Conference. The conference was held in Washington, DC at the House Capitol Building, and according to his Twitter David’s flight is currently delayed so he’s still in the state!
David was lucky enough to get to speak alongside Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the founder of Children Uniting Nations Daphna Ziman.

The live streaming begins at 8 am EST. David is supposedly participating in a conference that starts at 8:30 am. The Gala, where he will sing, takes place at 7 pm EST.
